family adventures.
i have been part of this crazy adventure for over 16 years. and i have loved every minute of it. my mom has 10 siblings. TEN! three brothers, seven sisters. all together, we make the bottom picture. yup. and there's actually four or five missing; believe it or not. my mom, her sisters, and her parents are in the top picture. my mom's sisters have become some of my best friends. my mom is the oldest at 42 and her youngest sister is 24 (i think...) together, they have 20 children (the youngest two aren't married and... don't have kids) they are incredible role models and mothers. we have so much fun together, i consider them my sisters just because... i don't have any :) but i thought i'd share with you, some lessons that i have learned from them over the years. these might reveal why being part of this giant family has been quite the adventure.
10 things i learned from the Big Aunts-
1. Russian roulette is not the same without a gun.
2. NEVER wear jeans that don't have back pockets.
3. It's okay not to like their disgusting herb tea stuff.
4. Follow your dreams.
5. laugh! everything is funny :)
6. It's okay to look like crap at a family ward but always try to look your best at the singles ward.
7. sing or hum. all the time. no matter what.
8. you don't REALLY need to come to a complete stop when you come to a stop sign.
9. it's okay to eat as much as you possibly can as long as you go for a walk, do some yoga or dance afterward.
10. you're lucky when you find someone crazy enough to marry you and become part of this crazy family.
P.S. i asked walker if he had learned any life lessons from the aunts and this was his reply... "yeah... aunt marilyn taught me how to play a card game. it was cool."
