the (unimportant) story of my life.

once upon a time a cute little brown haired girl decided to join her Junior High band. keep in mind that at HER school band was the cool thing to do, not the dorky. she played the French Horn. there was a nice ninth grade boy who came in to help the little seventh graders learn how to play. his name was ty. grace didn't realize how much him and his family would change her life.

Now grace is the ninth grade girl who went in and taught the little seventh graders how to play. one named nick has her wrapped around his little finger. she would do anything for him and he, for her. They became inseparable, no better friends existed. one day, nick mentions his brother, ty, who is now a junior in high school. "Ty!?" grace asks, "did he used to play?" yes he did responds nick.

First day of high school and grace is scared to death. she walks into class. there's ty just sitting there. "Hey grace!" he says, smiling. he waves. he has just made high school SO much easier. and he'll never know.

Nick calls grace twice a week for two years. they talk for hours on end about nothing in particular. Grace tells him about her 'boyfriend.' and all the things she wishes he was. Nick talks about girls he is in love with. but deep down, grace knows she's never loved anyone more then nick.

end of the school year. grace walks in to the music store. Ty works there. go figure. "GRACE! i got my mission call. i'm going to the Philippines." i'm excited for him. but wait? he's leaving?

end of the summer, mission farewell. sit with nick and listen to ty. she can't believe he's leaving, he is one of the most amazing people she's ever met. she looks at nick sitting next to her. she's been in love with him for three solid years.

Ty has been gone for eight months. Nick and Grace are still best friends. but every time she looks at his hands, she remembers how madly in love with him she is. Is there a possibility? yes. is HE in love with HER? probably not.
